PayPal is currently hiring Software Engineers in our Austin, TX office! We are rethinking the way PayPal onboards customers and provisions products. We are looking for smart and dynamic technical engineers who will have the unique opportunity to work across many domains (Onboarding, User, Risk, Compliance) while engineering a new platform for customer creation and product provisioning. In this opportunity, you will be required to deliver on critical business needs that decrease customer drop offs, provide transparency and flexibility for customer sign ups, and substantially improve on availability, scale and performance of the provisioning and onboarding system.
The primary job responsibilities include:
Participate in the design and development of one or more product features or sub-systems
Produce code that is sufficiently supported by unit tests
Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the project
Participate in architecture discussions and understand solutions to system and product changes within your team
Participate in demonstration of completed work to stakeholders
Supporting adjacent teams by answering questions
Participate in peer code reviews
Triage and solve live issues
Participate fully in all scrum team activities
BS + 2 years of planning, designing, and development experience, or MS/PhD + 1 yrs
Web services and database experience
Basic Knowledge of implementing REST APIs
Familiarity with Java
Familiarity with C++ Knowledge of Object Oriented principles
Familiarity with working on Relational Databases (Oracle)
Familiarity with QA automation processes and tools such as JUnit and TestNG
Good written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Version Control Systems (GIT, SVN)
Familiarity with UNIX systems on a user level
Familiarity with Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
