As part of the DE Credit Team, reporting to the Head of DE Credit, a typical day for the Business Development Manager, Credit DE will include the maximisation of Total Purchase Volume / Originations, the participating in development of & being responsible for budget targets for back book portfolios. Furthermore, you maintain long term, strong merchant engagement and ensure merchant compliance with established policies (intangibles, surcharging, upstream).

The role covers several aspects:

Consumer Credit

  • Create reporting, monitoring & measurable KPIs on back book portfolios

  • Monitor growth of back book portfolios

  • Work to reduce churn or decline

  • Ensure stable performance of the product

  • Track and improve consumer & merchant application & onboarding funnel & drop offs

  • Ensure best in class integrations

  • Ensure inbound servicing teams are staffed & trained with efficient sales tools

  • Develop and document relevant incrementality statistics for use in marketing & sales

  • Develop & monitor consumer facing KPIs

  • Monitor & further develop NPS

  • Evaluate consumer usage and determine relevant & strategic target groups for marketing

  • Work with analytics to ensure Halo effects are defined and reportable

  • Regularly update market research

Business Lending

  • Ensure monitoring & reporting is established

  • Track & monitor subsequent loans and portfolio KPIs

  • Monitor NPS

  • Work with analytics to ensure Halo effects are defined and reportable


  • Smart Payment Buttons & PP Complete Payments

  • Co-marketing with merchants & eBay

  • Whitelist expansion

  • PP Merchant churn prevention

  • Develop consistent/ regular reporting to share with merchants

About You

  • Bachelor / Master / MBA degree in business or related fields

  • 5+ years work experience in related fields

  • Understanding of credit market in Germany (consumer & business)

  • Fluent in English & German

  • Excellent analytical skills and Excel and PowerPoint experience

  • Project management skills to drive projects & get results

  • Results oriented, fun, energetic personality

  • Works well under pressure and in a cross-functional and multi-national team
