Business Systems Analyst

With your strong business acumen and understanding of the payments space, and your in depth of knowledge of technology, you will be able to quickly deploy analytical solutions that are of high business impact. If you are passionate about being in the forefront of building extreme data infrastructures to enable high-scale, data-centric applications, joining this team will help you drive innovations and be a leader in the emerging space of big data and analytics.

The candidate is expected to have a strong bias towards data-driven decision making and be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast paced dynamic environment. This position will provide business process transformation services for key initiatives within Paypal Business functions and other corporate functions working development engineers. The successful candidate will be highly analytical with good attention to detail, possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a collaborative team member.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & apply domain/process expertise

  • Translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements

  • Work with clients to define best output based on expressed stakeholder needs

  • Have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise

  • Solve well-defined tasks with clear requirements and limited ambiguity

  • Convert data to make it analysis-ready through basic descriptive, aggregations, and pivots

  • Communicate clearly to stakeholders on project requirements and status

  • Derive actionable recommendations from analysis that impact a process or team

  • You undertake a variety of tasks willingly. You switch from complex to routine tasks when required. You adapt quickly to new business functions. You work effectively with a variety of personalities and work styles

  • Re-engineering and transformation of business processes

  • Requirements gathering, analysis and determination of recommended solutions

  • Business process mapping, including identification of change impacts and needed business controls

  • Meeting facilitation

  • Stakeholder relationship management

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of related experience in Data analysis, reporting analytics, Business process mapping and process re-engineering.

  • ERP and financial systems exposure

  • Ability to work with process modeling tools such as IBM BlueWorks Live, Visio, etc.

  • Analytical skills necessary to make solid decisions: define problem or process improvement opportunity, identify and analyze options, propose solution

  • Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment; ability to pivot to critical path tasks as necessary

  • Ability to interact with executives and managers

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Professional
