The Business Intelligence team supports PayPal’s executives by delivering world-class performance management solutions and analytics that provide insights on key business drivers, trends, and opportunities. The team’s scope covers all of PayPal’s businesses globally, encompassing 200 million+ active accounts in more than 200 markets. The Team is part of the Global Analytics and Insights Team, reporting up through the CFO organization.

The Analyst, Consumer & Merchant BI role reports to the BI Consumer & Merchant Lead, and is a high-impact position with exposure to PayPal’s Consumer, Merchant, Products, Marketing and Finance teams across regions. The person will be responsible for collaborating with various teams to design new BI solutions and optimize existing solutions. This role will have a high level of responsibility and ownership. The role requires strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders across geographies, and enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify key performance metrics and build executive-level dashboards and analyses to track the progress of PayPal’s consumer and merchants

• Demonstrates ability to translate business questions into measurement framework, build underlying data structure to BI layer, and build the right visuals in Tableau.

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Keep a constant and proactive eye out for potential improvements in analytics and BI processes, data quality and data sources/tools.

• Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s business lines, products and geographies to connect the dots between product, marketing broader business trends

  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy or related functions

  • Functional expertise in Tableau visualization and performance optimization

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance

  • Mastery of SQL and strong experience databases (Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
