The Enterprise Data Services team is seeking a software development manager to lead a team of data engineers focused on building (big) data and analytics solutions. An ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development and data engineering with experience in leading development teams up to 12 people. The candidate should have experience in working in an agile environment and running bi-weekly sprints to deliver features.

An ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development and data engineering with experience in leading development teams up to 12 people. The candidate should have experience in working in an agile environment and running bi-weekly sprints to deliver features.

Experience and skills

  • A MS or BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 15+ years of software engineering experience

  • 3+ years experience in building large scale and distributed fault tolerant enterprise applications using Hadoop and related open source Big Data Technologies such as Spark, Spark Streaming, Hive, HBase, Cassandra, Kafka, Elastic search

  • Hands-on technical leader that contributes to technical vision, software architecture, process improvements to deliver scalable big data platforms and services

  • Management experience in leading a large development team

  • Experience in building scalable real time systems and streaming solutions is preferred

  • Solid programming experience in languages like Java, scala, python or equivalent. Experience with Linix/unix and shell scripting

  • Experience in developing and deploying scalable and fault tolerant web services using REST

  • Experience working with cross-­functional teams and geo locations.

  • Experience with all aspects of big data systems including database design, ETL, and monitoring

5+ years of experience with SQL and one or more DBs – Oracle, Mysql, Teradata
