The EMEA Business Intelligence (BI) & Product Analytics Lead has dual coverage responsibilities and will serve as the single point of contact in EMEA for both the Global BI Team and the Product Analytics Team. Both teams are part of the Global Analytics and Insights Team, reporting up through the CFO organization. The Global Business Intelligence team supports PayPal’s executives by delivering world-class performance management solutions and analytics to provide insights on business drivers, trends, and opportunities. The Product Analytics Team establishes & monitors KPIs for core products/features, conducts rigorous analysis and A/B tests to improve customer experiences, and conducts ad hoc deep dives to identify profitable growth opportunities across PayPal’s Consumer & Merchant Products.
The EMEA BI & Product Analytics Lead is an experienced Manager role that dual-reports to the Head of Business Intelligence and the Head of Product Analytics. It is a high-impact, high-visibility position with exposure to PayPal’s senior leadership team across regions. The Manager will be responsible for leading large scale projects aimed at driving business growth, efficiency and commonality, working closely with PayPal global, regional and country teams. The role requires strong strategic and analytical skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders across geographies, businesses and functions. Additionally, the role requires the ability to drive change and innovation as the groups’ scope and mandate expand.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Business Intelligence: serve as a single point of contact for BI in the region, including:
Understanding and prioritizing regional and country-level BI requirements
Working with the BI team to ensure EMEA needs are incorporated into global solutions
Leading efforts to drive awareness and adoption of global BI solutions across EMEA
Product Analytics: serve as single point of contact for PA in the region, including:
Coordinating with Global Product Analytics team to identify product metrics and monitor product performance across EMEA markets
Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to build world-class products and design hypothesis-driven experiments; make clear, coherent and holistic recommendations based on test results
Presenting findings and recommendations to senior-level/non-technical stakeholders
Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s business lines, products and geographies
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify key performance metrics and build executive-level dashboards and analyses to track the progress of PayPal’s businesses and high-priority initiatives
Perform deep-dives to identify challenges, opportunities and specific actions required
Lead a team of project managers to execute on large scale project
10+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy or related functions
World-class analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience managing high-performing business intelligence or analytical teams
Experience managing senior level stakeholder, including strong influencing skills and the ability to navigate a global organization
Experience in Financial Services and Payments is a plus
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint; SQL, reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview) and databases (Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop) and/or programming language (e.g., R, Python) highly desirable
Bachelor degree from a top tier institution in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, CS). MBA/MS is a plus.
