The Sr. Finance Manager, International Credit will support the financially-responsible operation and expansion of consumer credit outside the United States, working closely with International country leaders and Functional leaders within the credit team to responsibly and rapidly grow the footprint and relevance of consumer credit for PayPal around the world.
This position will entail leading the planning process (strategic and budget planning) and influencing the product, initiative, marketing and operational functions in our current markets. It will also require close coordination with Credit and Country leadership in creating a business case and planning of new country expansion, whether that expansion comes from organic expansion, partnership, or acquisition.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Act as business adviser and protector of the financial framework and performance of the International Consumer Credit business. Assure that all key strategic issues and operational initiatives have received thoughtful, organized financial input before decisions are made
• Maintain the long-term business planning assumptions and pro forma financial statements – coordinate with functional heads (marketing, product, operations, analytics teams) – updating plans quarterly
• International Credit annual budget creation and management, ensuring that there are adequate financial resources to execute on the business plans and that those resources are fully utilized
• Assist in the design of and report on business-oriented and financial Level 1 and Level 2 KPIs/metrics
• Aggregate and explain monthly and quarterly financial variances to annual plan and forecast (originations, Revenue, Fees, Loss and Loss Provision, and Operating Expenses). Provide documentation and support for monthly business reviews and forecast Credit P&Ls by country
• Liaise closely with risk, accounting policy and credit controllership to ensure integrity and alignment around financial processes and controls
• Liaise with Luxembourg Bank and 3PL Board (key partners and governance bodies) to answer questions and ensure understanding and alignment with key stakeholders
This person will have a direct report from Credit Finance based and share the time of general finance analyst in Sydney, Australia. This person will report to the Finance Director, Global Merchant and International Consumer Credit and will ideally be based in Richmond, England.
Credit financial experience and a passion for the business that promotes frequent and thoughtful financial feedback on both business strategy, product and operations
Strong administrative, supervisory, organizational, process and collaborative skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels and collaborate with organizational partners and stakeholders
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with strong 'attention to detail ' orientation
Extensive experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
Controls-focused – lead in the effort to establish and extend repeatable, documented processes that ensure controlled growth across the globe.
Creativity – helping business leaders to create profitable business approaches to bringing consumer credit to as many of PayPal’s markets as possible, regardless of size
4+ years of experience in a finance role, with strong financial planning/analysis experience and a proven track record (preferably total P&L responsibility) - Credit finance experience strongly preferred
Advanced Proficiency with MS Office, especially with Excel and Powerpoint (VBA experience a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or engineering (MBA is a plus)
