The Xoom Platform Node.js Engineering team is responsible for implementing and maintaining middle layers that orchestrate the multiple backend micro services adding business logic and optimizations in favor for a simple and straightforward resource that is delivered to the front-end platforms.
We are also responsible for building and providing internal infrastructure and support for our Node.js developers to seek agreement on standards, implementation and best practices.
We use a technology stack including REST APIs, Node.js, Open API, Express, Mocha, Redis, Zookeeper, SonarQube, NSolid and everything that NPM can provide.
We are looking for passionate Node.js developers who love to be involved in the Node.js community, learning the latest trends and software development updates to design, develop and deliver high quality backend applications to help customers care for loved ones around the world.
Design, implement, test and maintain business-critical applications providing RESTful API access to middle layer resources
Find creative solutions for complex features that fit into a growing ecosystem of interacting applications and APIs
Manage the full application lifecycle from design to successful operation in production
Produce well-tested code, including unit tests and integration tests not because you have to, but because you know it makes your code better
Coordinate incoming priorities of multiple teams that use our APIs to facilitate their success
Collaborate with other engineers, managers, QA and operations to ensure that our systems meet our reliability and performance goals
Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the intellectual curiosity that drives a desire to understand the problem
Help identify and fix performance, scalability and other issues in a time critical environment so that our customers can always use our services
Learn about downstream API’s to make accurate integrations to them
2+ years of experience in software development
Experience with writing and consuming REST APIs with Node.js and Express framework
Experience with Agile development and knowledge of Agile principles
Can take and give constructive criticism in the form of code reviews and pair programming
Enjoy coding every day
Desire to continue learning
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure successful collaborations with multiple teams
Experience with tools like:
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent working knowledge
