The Partnerships team is at the core of Xoom’s money transfer business. We are responsible for building and maintaining a resilient and always-available platform that will integrate to hundreds of third party systems. We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about developing scalable, secure, and well-tested software. As a member of the team you will use Java, Spring, MySQL, Redis Kafka, Zookeeper, Docker, MQ technologies, and anything else the team decides would make our system better.
Design, implement, and maintain business-critical financial systems
Work with a variety of stakeholders across the whole business to ensure that our financial systems meet our reliability, accuracy, and performance goals
Help identify and implement new technologies that will help attain our goals
Deliver software development tasks efficiently and with high quality
Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other issues in a time-critical environment
Engineer data models for new features that meet both internal and external application requirements
Produce well-tested code through the use of automated, unit, and integration tests, and help QA team build the necessary automated test to ensure fast deployment of our new features
Refactor legacy code to make it more efficient and inline with current standards
Design software features so that they facilitate operational support
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Software Development Organization
Understanding of open source frameworks, when to use them and when not to use them
Extensive experience in Object-Oriented analysis, design and development, preferably in Java
Experience with SQL, Redis and MQ Technologies
Experience with Agile development and knowledge of Agile principles
Nice to have experience in
Application Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
