The Mid-Market Relationship Manager (RM) is a critical component of the PayPal Merchant Services team. The RM will be involved in developing and implementing strategic business plan for penetrating the mid-market segment in Pan India leading a team of Account Management.
The Mid-Market RM will be leading portfolio of current Paypal SMB merchant generating cross border volumes, hence role requires to grow the cross border volumes & plus pitch Paypal domestic solutions to the SMB merchants.
In this primary role, the Mid-Market RM needs to be an expert about PayPal, alternative payment products and have proven experience in selling to mid-market merchants, either directly or through account management. He / she is required to have an understanding of a variety of services that merchants would utilize together with PayPal (i.e. offline payments, payment gateway services etc). He / she will communicate with small to mid-size merchants to understand the needs.
The individual requires strong people management & merchant relationship capabilities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mid-Market RM is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans to drive growth and ongoing value from the mid-market segment of merchants, a significant and growing segment for PayPal. His / her responsibility will include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement a strategic plan and initiatives to grow Mid-market Merchants in a scalable and sustainable way. Garner cross-functional resources (Marketing, Operations, etc.) to enable the execution of the plan.
Enhancement of Merchants’ customer support experience, collaborating with Operations / Compliance/ Risk teams
Explore opportunity to promote merchants by leveraging Marketing.
Develop a robust monitoring / tracking tool of business performance in Mid-market segments.
Deep dive into analytics; to have an excellent knowledge and understanding of Mid-Market revenue performance, key levers and footings contributing to revenue growth.
Strong Relationship management with merchants & develop a Retention plans & anticipate future merchant needs and opportunities.
Remaining diligently and relentlessly focused on delivering the planned results, including closely monitoring performance and implementing timely, effective corrective actions when necessary.
Articulate clear and compelling business priorities for Mid-Market segments.
Reporting to the Director of Mid-Markets & Government Sales.
WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years’ experience in Sales Strategy & Planning, Sales Management and Operations, and CRM is required. Small & Medium business focused experience is highly preferred.
5+ years’ experience in e-Commerce is required; eMarketing, IT, Mobile/Telecommunication, Digital Goods, Payment Services, or Consulting Service is a plus.
2+ years’ experience in people management with proven success in building positive and effective sales organization / business.
Numerical literacy and depth of experience w data analytics is a must.
Well-developed planning capabilities, coupled with experience institutionalising best practice systems and processes.

Strong project management skills - able to lead, prioritize, develop and provide clear direction, influence across cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, case-building and presentation skills required. Regional language knowledge would be a plus.
Able to work effectively in a highly-matrix, dynamic and fast paced environment; is open to change.
A self-starter and results-orientated, with ability to focus on details without losing track of the big picture
Team player with demonstrated ability to execute cross-functionally.

- Successful completion of a university Bachelor’s degree is required.
