We are looking for a highly talented, self-motivated and analytical individual to join the Global Financial Crimes & Compliance (GFCC) Analytics Team. This person will be responsible for implementing transaction models to support Global Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing (AML /CTF) policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and other GFCC strategy initiatives. This person will assist with detection models to prevent high risk banks, products or customers from utilizing PayPal as a payment option. Models, rules or keywords may be developed internally or with third party applications. A solid understanding of financial services, AML requirements and market best practices in detection are needed.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic financial services environment
Analysis of both high-level and granular (category and/or product specific) business trends
Build and manage processes that produce insights and information on a periodic basis
Conduct database analysis using basic SQL, Excel and other tools
Integrate new data sources and pay flows into existing rules and models
Perform deep dives into complex data sets, analyzing them using a variety of techniques to support the development, modification and testing of models and rules
Prepare reports and updates to senior managers regarding the above activities
Work with detections team to enable rules engines to access the proper data and consume decision outputs
Structure and refine analysis with the goal of distilling insights from the data
Develop rule documentation that meets the highest regulatory standards and audit requirements
Minimum of two years business experience, with at least one year in an analytics-related role
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, in dealing with people at all levels of the organization
Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity
Ability to take initiatives and drive work
Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities
Basic knowledge of relational databases is a plus
Basic SQL skills using tools like Teradata, MS SQL, MySQL is a plus
Experience in distilling and presenting complex quantitative analysis to business users
High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth environment
