This position is part of the GCCI Internal Control organization, the Business Continuity Coordinator provides subject matter expertise in the areas of Business Continuity planning and risk mitigation and leads junior BCP coordinators in quality and synergy across the Resiliency/BCP program.
Coach and empower Analysts to create exceptional experiences and make the right decisions within defined operational guidelines.
Schedule, prepare and lead 1:1 coaching and team learning sessions and stand-ups that are interactive, engaging and Analysts driven based upon developmental needs.
Assist in the development, testing and communications of Business Continuity planning.
Work with leadership to maintain and manage the Business Continuity program, supporting all activities necessary to enable response to any disaster, or business interruption.
Ensure that we can continue to operate and meet business and client objectives and requirements in the event of a business interruption, or disaster.
Responsible for the coordination of the development of Business Continuity Plans and associated documentation.
Interface with the enterprise Business Continuity Management Team to ensure an understanding and compliance with corporate standards and regulatory and industry requirements for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery.
Development, Maintenance and Communications of Business Continuity Plans.
Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments to align Business Continuity Plans.
Responsible for the ownership and maintenance of all documentation related to the Business Continuity Plans.
Assists in the development and implementation of Plans for new groups, systems and processes/procedures in various departments and works with Plan owners to implement them.
Take the lead in organizing and coordinating the appropriate testing resources required to conduct a Business Continuity test/exercise.
Maintain quality by performing audits to ensure integrity, adherence to Business Continuity standards and analyze and provide overall support to internal and external customers.
Create/Support scenarios to re-establish operations from various types of business disruptions.
Identify opportunities for improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
Foster ongoing awareness of business recovery requirements and strategies with business/Operations partners, both internal and external.
Utilize Situational Leadership skills to effectively coaching style to the performance and knowledge level of each Coordinator (support learning style differences/flexibility).
Manage DSS Analyst/Coordinator as assigned.
Serve as a champion for the DSS Framework to: ensure consistency, clearly articulate processes, educate others, and enforce documentation standards. Routinely complete pulse checks with Business Units to ensure maximum engagement.
As a Team Leader you will become a significant resource to other departments in and around PayPal; it is important to support other Global DSS Teams as well other departments that come to DSS seeking guidance and support.
Attend professional meetings, read literature, and participate in training or other educational offerings to keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery.
Prerequisite Knowledge and Proficiencies:
Strong analytical, cross-referencing and deductive reasoning skills. Ability to problem-solve, review and analyze data, locate its source, effectively assess risk, identify root cause of issues and identify operational efficiencies. Ability to determine best course of action/make sound recommendations for correction of testing/monitoring findings.
Self-motivated. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
Demonstrated attention to detail and knowledge of multiple functions within the GCO GCCI Organization.
Must display a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, commitment, integrity, teamwork, and customer service.
Proven organizational skills.
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with several stakeholders.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers and business units.
2-3 years professional related experience; such as: business continuity, technical/procedural writing and/or instructional design or risk/fraud environment; preferably in Banking or AML/BSA functions.
2-3 years of Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery.
2-3 years of performing quality audits to ensure integrity, adhering to business continuity standards and analyzing and providing overall support to internal and external customers.
2-3 years of developing Business Continuity Plan problem resolution by analyzing processing problems, recommending solutions and working with other departments to test and implement solutions.
1-2 years people management.
Appropriate certifications (DRII, CBCP, MBCP).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, etc.).
Demonstrated strong written, oral and presentation skills to foster productive relationships with diverse staff.
- BS/BA Degree or educational equivalent.
