In this role, you will be building a scalable, secure, highly available next generation Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for PayPal by using a variety of technologies such as Docker, Mesos, Consul, etc and also would be responsible for the enhancement of the existing Platform.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience in building massively scalable high performance services.

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Ability to identify Performance bottlenecks.

  • Contribution in open source projects a plus.

  • Experience in building highly available platforms running in production handling no downtime rollouts.

Job Requirements

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field

  • Experience with design and implementation of distributed applications

  • Ability to think abstractly and deal with problems

  • Expertise in Java or C/C++.

  • Expertise in go or python.

  • Working experience in shell scripting, ansible etc.

  • Strong linux systems knowledge.

  • Strong working knowledge in docker.

  • Deep understanding and working knowledge on any one of these systems: Zookeeper/etcd/consul

  • Working knowledge on any one of these cluster managers: Mesos/kubernetes/docker swarm. Mesos is a plus.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and takes pride in how fast develop working software

  • Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies

  • Provides continuous support for ongoing application availability
