PayPal’s Financial Reporting team has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Reporting Manager who will support both internal and external financial reporting requirements for the Company. This person will interact with various teams across the Company in development of monthly internal and quarterly external financial analyses, themes and messaging. The position is based in San Jose, CA.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Support the preparation of the monthly internal financial reporting package in partnership with contributing team members

  • Create and maintain internal reporting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadlines adherence for the process

  • Act as liaison with other departments in preparation and review of non-financial reporting metrics.

  • Provide support for the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual reports on Form 10-Q/K including data input, document tie out an general review

  • Participate in communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and other issues.

  • Responsible for effectiveness of internal controls where identified as a process owner; implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements

  • Work on other special and ad hoc projects in Corporate Controllership as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 8 years or more of professional experience including exposure to the technology industry, internal and external financial reporting; proficient in US GAAP and relevant accounting and financial reporting matters. “Big 4” accounting firm or public company experience a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and plans clearly and effectively with internal and external audiences

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to independently and simultaneously manage various tasks and projects in a fast-paced environments and flexibility to work hours needed to meet deadlines

  • Good teamwork skills to build collaborative and win/win relationships

  • High degree of intellectual curiosity combined with immense attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Prior experience with Workiva (formerly Webfilings) and XBRL preferred, but not required
