PayPal’s is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Real Estate, based in our Scottsdale, Arizona office. PayPal manages over 60 properties in 38 countries, with over 3 million square feet of office space. Our centers house product development, sales and marketing functions, customer support and corporate functions. PayPal believes that the workplace is a collaboration tool, and our mission is to bring people together in our sites to generate ideas, innovate and deliver solutions that help us democratize money using financial technology.
The Corporate Real Estate department spans four distinct pillars: Design and Construction, Space Planning, Lease Management, Administration and Global Planning, and our Facilities Operations functions. This role reports to the Vice President of Sourcing and Corporate Real Estate, and manages a team of 4-6 direct reports, as well as a layered organization of 70+ employees, based in all of our global sites.
We are looking for someone to join our team that has a strong point of view on world class design, a firm grasp on best practices in managing landlord-tenant relations, deep experience in global construction management, and a partnership orientation that helps cultivate relationships across the business. This person must have a self-started disposition, and can effectively network internally within the PayPal organization, as well as possess strong communication skills to help us drive the initiative across the business units. The right individual for this role will possess the ability to cultivate a team that leverages data, processes and relationships to create a world-class Real Estate function for the business.
10+ years’ experience in a managing a Corporate Real Estate function for a complex global organization, or a combination of direct Design and Construction experience at a large development company, real estate holding company or leading a Corporate Real Estate function for a Fortune 500 company.
Experience in crafting complex lease arrangements that futureproof our footprint, creates opportunity for PayPal to scale and flex as we grow our business organically and through mergers and acquisitions.
A process orientation, with experience in working with Real Estate suppliers, especially construction firms, across the globe.
Extensive experience in a Project Management role, with responsibility for delivering new Real Estate Assets against business-critical timelines.
Experience working with business units, and design teams (internally and third party) to create inspiring spaces for our people.
A born networker, who is zealous about connecting with others inside our business. A passion for solving problems is a key success factor for this role.
Experience with short, mid and long-term planning of facilities from a data-centric point of view.
Broad experience with Construction and Facilities Operations budgets, and working with Financial and Sourcing stakeholders.
A penchant for reporting data and building data-oriented communications, and a strong orientation to delivering quantitative results.
Self-starter and a person who likes to try new ideas, implement plans and generate better processes
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Architecture, Real Estate or Engineering, or any Business Discipline.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master Degree in Architecture, Design, or Business Administration
A global design portfolio of delivered real estate assets, preferably for a major corporation
Industry-recognized Project Management and/or Design certifications
Banking, Technology or Financial Services experience
Experience in environmentally focused vendor programs, and “green supply chain” initiatives
