Job Description

The person will be responsible for overseeing local risk and compliance job.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing local compliance (including the development of the Country AML Program addenda as required) and reporting structure.

  • Liase with key regulatory bodies and officials as needed (PBOC, SAFE, PCAC, etc).

  • Report to appropriate Executive Management, Boards of Directors and their designated committees as requested.

  • Provide compliance thought leadership and solutions to key Projects and other business initiatives.

  • Provide guidance to management as regards adherence to both internal and external directives from the 2nd Line of Defense primarily focused on Compliance, Operational Risk, Business Continuity functions.

  • Co-ordinate the Risk Control Assessment process (e.g. trigger event monitoring; stakeholder engagement, meeting organization and outputs); engage Risk Stewards as required.

  • Ensure remedial actions are identified, assigned and managed as part of the Risk Control Assessment process. Track and provide advice on the completion of management response actions; ensure timely and accurate recording in the risk management system.

Job Requirements:

  1. At least 7 years’ experience in Compliance, Audit, Controls, Legal, Compliance operations or as a regulator.

  2. Sound understanding of AML requirements in China. Ability to pragmatically apply them to actual situations. MLRO experience would be preferred.

  3. Knowledge of payments products and processes would be preferred.

  4. Effective collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with counterparts and stakeholders

  5. Advanced knowledge and experience with MS-Office applications

  6. Good command of English and Chinese (both written and spoken)
