Business Obligation team is at the forefront in enabling expansion of PayPal into new markets. This team is responsible for implementing capabilities that helps PayPal meet regulatory compliance requirements of various countries and regions. The team makes use of state of the art technologies such as Rule Management Systems, various styles of DBMS and Enterprise Application Integration Patterns to develop back end services and APIs. The team consists of talented engineers, visionary product managers, meticulous project managers and is managed by people-focused leaders.
• Develop/maintain software, driving the analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing and deployment phases.
• Produce technical design and associated design documentation, and drive design reviews.
• Plan, track and manage the software project over its development cycle.
• Coordinate team activities with lateral teams across disciplines (e.g., QA) and vertical groups (e.g. Financial Systems), and upwards with project management elements.
• Integrate the team's deliveries with software from other teams to produce final software build.
• Plan and execute roll-out of software to the live environment according to stipulated standards, practices and milestones.
• Oversee the quality of deliveries and ensure conformance to processes and practices.
This position entails project management, responsibility for team deliveries, and also personal deliveries (including software development).
Software Engineer is expected to be a senior development person who is able to undertake rudimentary project management responsibilities for his/her team, typically 2-6 engineers in size. In some assignments, Software Engineer works as an individual contributor, with no team lead responsibilities.
Software Engineer is expected to be highly competent technically and domain-wise, a respected thought leader in his/her specialty, and a role model for junior members of the team.
• Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics
• Hands on development experience using Java
• Expertise in Service Oriented Architecture using REST
• Knowledge and experience of various DB technologies (SQL and no-SQL)
• Exposure to Agile / Scrum development methodology (good to have)
• Quality Processes and experience of Unit and Functional testing
