In this position you will partner with the local senior business leaders of PayPal to build business cases / financial models for key initiatives, lead analysis on key drivers of business performance, and manage forecasts & budgets.

With the explosive growth of digital commerce, PayPal Australia is seeking a high caliber, strategic minded Finance Manager to join the Australia team.

In this position you will partner with the local senior business leaders of PayPal to build business cases / financial models for key initiatives, lead analysis on key drivers of business performance, and manage forecasts & budgets. An ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced financial modeling skills, offer a strategic perspective and possess strong business acumen.

This person will report directly to the Head of FP&A and will play a critical role in assuring that we meet our goals. This is a high impact, high visibility position with exposure to PayPal’s local leadership team and the global finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans, annual financial budgets and monthly forecasts for the AU business

  • Analyze daily/weekly/monthly trends across the Australia business and communicate risks and opportunities to the business

  • Work closely with the local teams to understand drivers of current trends, forecast assumptions and communicate to the leadership and global FP&A teams on a weekly basis

  • Build reports to monitor performance across the different areas of the business

  • Build business cases / financial models for key initiatives

  • Create presentations for Executive staff to clearly highlight business performance

  • Identify business process & systems improvements opportunities

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and financial modeling for specific asks and questions raised

Personal Qualities, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required

  • World-class analytics and problem-solving capabilities required

  • A passion for problem-solving, comfort with ambiguity, and creativity

  • Results oriented, ambitious, self-motivated, “hands on” person with proven ability to meet targets.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills required

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team

  • Team player attitude, partnering, and collaboration skills

  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, SQL is a plus

  • Experience with large financial systems such as SAP, BW, Essbase, etc.

  • 5+ years in FP&A or related finance functions

  • Tertiary qualifications from a related discipline

  • CA/CPA qualifications (or close to completion) would be highly regarded
