A typical day for the Java Developer will include:
PayPal’s Risk organization is in charge of implementing unique, best-of-breed fraud-detection algorithms using cutting-edge technologies.
As part of the development organization, you will be responsible for practicing technical design, developing new functionality and maintaining existing components.
You will deep dive into PayPal’s world class risk systems and algorithms and work side by side with data scientists and analysts on data centric analytic solutions.
You will have a contribution to PayPal’s efforts to fight Fraud using advanced algorithms and technology, while deploying the code you develop into PayPal’s live systems and having a true global effect.

Develop and own analytical frameworks used for research, development and deployment of analytical content in the serving (online), near real-time (stream processing) and offline (Hadoop batch) layers of PayPal’s risk systems.
Work side by side with analysts and data scientists to deliver world-class data science solutions from research phase all the way to production.
Gain expertise and deep understanding of PayPal’s development cycles, platforms and technology, while contributing to them via inner sourcing.

B.Sc. in computer sciences/ mathematics or equivalent; or IDF technological unit technology experience
2+ years of proven experience in Java/ Scala development
Excellent coding skills and deep understanding of object oriented design, data-structures, concurrency and algorithms.
Highly motivated, goal driven, can-do approach
Innovative, entrepreneurial, Team player, Ability to multi-task
Curious and open minded
Excellent English (written and verbal)
Hands on experience with Hadoop / Spark / ElasticSearch
Experience with Maven/Git/Continuous integration
